Scholarships

Farm Bureau offers several scholarships to young people interested in furthering their education in agriculture.


Young Farmer Scholarship Foundation

Four $2000 scholarships are presented each year to Farm Bureau member students already studying in an agriculture area. These are designed to provide opportunities to those students showing need for financial assistance as well as academic ability and leadership qualities. Applicants must have already completed their college freshman year in an agriculture major at any Mississippi university or community college. The deadline for applications to be received is June 1 of each year.

Hugh M. Arant Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1995 after the death of the 6th president of Farm Bureau, Hugh Arant. A $1000 scholarship is presented to an applicant applying through the YF&R Scholarship Foundation. Applicants must be enrolled at Mississippi State University in the field of agriculture. The deadline for applications to be received is June 1 of each year.

Don Waller Scholarship

This scholarship was established to honor the 7th President of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation, Don Waller. A $1000 scholarship is presented to an applicant applying through the Young Farmers & Ranchers Scholarship Foundation. Applicants must have already completed their college freshman year in an agriculture major at any Mississippi university or community college. The deadline for applications to be received is June 1 of each year.

Boswell Stevens Scholarship
MSU Ag Alumni - Dave Craig Scholarship

Both of these scholarships are awarded annually to the deserving son or daughter of a Farm Bureau family who is enrolled or plans to enroll in the MSU College of Agriculture and Home Economics. Applications for these scholarships must be made through the Financial Aid office at Mississippi State University. Applications must be submitted each year prior to April 1.

David Waide Endowed Scholarship


This scholarship has been established at Mississippi State University in honor of the 8th president of the Mississippi Farm Bureau, David Waide. this scholarship is in recognition of Mr. Waide's commitment to and efforts on behalf of agriculture.

Candidates for this scholarship must be full-time undergraduate students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences or the College of Forest Resources at MSU. Priority will be given to sons or daughters of Mississippi Farm Bureau members.

Berta Lee White Scholarship


In honor of former State Women's Committee Chair Bert White, this scholarship will be awarded to a woman who is a member of a Mississippi Farm Bureau family seeking a degree in the field of agriculture at a state institution of higher learning.
