Watson honored by Farm Bureau with Distinguished Service Award
Jackson – The Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation presented its Distinguished
Service Award to Vance H. Watson, Vice-President of Agriculture, Forestry
and Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University .
“Dr. Watson has spent his entire career serving the people of Mississippi
,” said Farm Bureau President David Waide. “He has a broad
understanding of the issues facing agriculture and provides strong leadership
for the farmers of this state.”
Watson is the author of more than 300 publications and has traveled the
world on a variety of agricultural missions. He was a member of the official
United States delegation for setting world policy on seed certification
and served as team leader for review of Peace Corps agricultural programs
in Thailand for the U.S. State Department.
