Farm Bureau honors Hamilton with Friend of Agriculture Award
Jackson – The Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation presented its
Friend of Agriculture Award to Representative Frank Hamilton of Hurley.
He represents House District 109 comprised of Jackson and George.
“Representative Hamilton has worked hard with Farm Bureau to get
stronger private property rights laws in force,” said Farm Bureau
President Randy Knight. “His work in this area helped Farm Bureau
pass the Eminent Domain Reform Initiative.”
“I have a personal interest in it because I own some prime property,”
said Representative Hamilton. “I pay my taxes on it and it would
just tear me up for the government to come take it and give it to a private
business. I’m very adamantly opposed to government intervention
on private, personally owned property.”
Representative Hamilton is a private pilot and is affiliated with the
East Central Civic Association and the Mississippi Hunting Dog Association.
He is a former Supervisor for Jackson County.
